Wuxi Little Swan Co Ltd, a household electrical appliance manufacturer based in Wuxi, China, aims to sell 1.2 million drum washing machines this year, according to General Manager Chai Xinjian.
Chai said that the enterprise, which has acquired washing the machine businesses of GD Midea Holding Co Ltd and Royalstar Group, aims to sell more than 10 million Little Swan, Midea and Royalstar washing machines this year.
So far, Wuxi Little Swan has sold more than 1 million 10 kg high-end inverter driven drum washing machines to U.S. customers, Chai added.
Reportedly, China’s sales volume of drum washing machines will account for nearly 30% of total washing machine sales this year. Sales in Shanghai and Beijing will account for an estimated 50% or more.
In 2009, Wuxi Little Swan reaped RMB 222 million in net profit, an amount 5.55 times the amount it realized in 2008, and its operating revenue swelled 1.92% year on year, hitting RMB 4.38 billion.
