    Hi,

I’ve got a Hoover TC65 dryer which has a problem in that it does not heat. Everything else seems to be OK.

I have had a look at the heater element (with machine unplugged of course!!) and tested the continuity of the element with a test meter and it seems all OK. The thermostat on the top of the heater also checks for continuity, but not sure if thats any clue as to whether it is working OK?

Only other “fault” is that the filter light is on – even after cleaning/ removing the filter. Air flow is good.

Just wondered if anyone can point me to anything else which might be causing the problem?

    Thanks

There is another thermostat on the front of the heater duct. Access involves removing the front panel.

    Power off.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your response.

Yes I found the other thermostat after much searching and tracing wires around. I joined the two connectors together with a piece of wire and tried again, but still no heat!!??

Would a fault on the timer control also affect the heater? I’m begining to think the problem must be elsewhere as the heater seems ok and bypassing the thermostats makes no difference?

I’m going to do a bit more investigating tomorrow, but any suggestions would be welcomed.

    Thanks

    Re: Hoover TC65 Tumble Dryer

The heater is switched mechanically by the timer, so it is entirely possible that there is a problem.

Please don’t live test BTW – you should be able to sort this with a multimeter.
