Hisense’s washing machine was awarded the industry’s 2010 Energy-Saving and Clean-Washing Pioneer during the 2010 China Washing Machines & Refrigerator Industry Summit Forum, held November 27 in Hefei.
Hisense’s Apollo Space series drum washer earned the Safety Design Award for its unique door. The Apollo space series also won the Most Intelligent Washer award a few days prior during the 3rd annual meeting of China’s washing machine industry.
Hisense formed a venture with Whirlpool in 2008 that resulted in a new washing machine plant in China, making Hisense the third Chinese brand with the technology to produce high-end drum washers in China.
Hisense said that, according to China Market Monitor, the sales volume between January and October this year for the Hisense drum washer increased 435.11% compared to the same period last year, while the average increase for the industry was 41.67%.
