I have a Hotpoint BWD129, it is about 2 to 3 years old I think. During a wash cycle it started making a buzzing noise and the door lock LED is flashing and also LED’s 2 and 4. Is this a job fr the Hotpoint engineer? How much do they charge? Will I get free parts even though I can’t find my receipt or remember where we bought it from? How can I stop the lights from flashing? The socket is behind the washer and I can’t get it out til my husband gets home!

To fix this problem will the washer have to be pulled out? It’s just that as the thing is built in I would have to get the dishwasher out too plus various other parts of the kitchen! What a pain!

Neons 2 & 4 equate to fault F05, pressure switch stuck on full on this Indesit machine. It could be blocked pump or filter, faulty pressure switch, blocked pressure hose etc. You can check the filter to the pump yourself, it is down at the bottom right, get a few towels handy.

That machine will be covered by the five year parts guarantee however their labour charge is almost £90.00

Be sure to remove the plug if you open it up.

Hi, thanks for the advice! My husband got the plinth off and checked the filter. He got towels ready as suggested but I guess I forgot to tell you that the washer was full of water!! We ended up emptying it very slowly using a baking tray coz that was all that would fit under the opening. Got there in the end and found a piece of my sons school sweatshirt, the washer had ripped a huge chunk off it!!

Thank you sooooo much you saved me quite a bit of money !!!
