ParticipantHi
After searching here, I’m pretty sure that the error 10 that my machine is displaying when starting a dry cycle is down to a faulty 3 way valve.
Just before I order one, can anyone confirm that this is likely to be the case and whether the valve is easily accessible? I seem to remember from my last venture into the machine (to replace the condenser fan) that the valve was at the top near the back, is this correct?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Geraint

Test meter across the solenoid coils is the only way to be sure.
Valve is p/no 1249472-11/7 if required, spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get one for you.
Power off, of course.

the green coil is the dryer valve….

Not entirely, Helo – 3 possible E10 faults, one of which is “problem with water during drying”. Hence, test meter to be sure.

Thanks for the replies, I’ve got a valve so I’ll give it ago. Incidentally the condenser fan is making a right racket when it spins up and when it stops. I replaced it less than a year ago, any reason why it keeps failing?

do you mean the condenser fan motor or the ventilator itself?

Not the motor, the belt driven fan bit

Dismantle the fan and lubricate the shaft with high speed grease. Reassemble and ensure no free play on the pulley. Spinning the pulley by hand ( with the belt attached) you should notice, as it stops, it should momentarily turn in the opposite direction (the spooky effect of a shaded pole motor 😉 )

Finally took it apart and slapped some car wheel bearing grease (lithium based stuff) on it. Re-assembled can hardly hear it spinning at all now, good tip, thanks a lot 😆
