Hello. I’ve just replaced the bearings on this machine and have a small leak. It’s the type with a rubber gasket and clamp ring.
The joint faces have been thoroughly cleaned but I’ve noticed there is an uneven section on the backplate where the leak is. Looks like it’s preventing full contact with the gasket.
I’m repairing this on the cheap as you might expect, so planning on using some silicon sealant on the leaky section.
I’ve seen mention of debor adhesive on the forum and this is probably the right stuff to use, but seeing as I have some silicon already, will this be ok?
By the way, I’m not planning on repairing this machine again so not bothered if it’s sealed for good. Cheers.
