ParticipantHello gents.
Well my time has come to replace the conditioner inlet valve as per Dave’s suggestion in my earlier email back in Feb.I had a quick look at what was involved and I am confident about replacing it with the mains isolated of course.
I am about to order the part number 55X7869 Triple Cold Inlet Valve, is there anything I need to be weary about and is it relatively straight forward to fit.
I think when this is done we will hopefully have a machine in good condition and working well without having spent an arm and a leg thanks to you gentlemen. Thanks

Straightforward job. To avoid mistakes, draw a diagram or digital photograph the valve BEFORE you dismantle it. You then have something to refer to if you forget!! 8)
Power off and all will be fine!! Test for correct function on completion.Hope that helps,
Steve.

Thank you Steve,,The machine doesn’t always take the conditioner, and after the wash has completed and the machine emptied a small amount of water appears in the drum after a little while . I am ssuming the 2 probs are associated with a faulty inlet valve. Do you think this is a possibilty.
Thank you

Filling while off is possible for two reasons.
1) If coupled to the sink and the hose droops down, water can run back into the machine.
2) Inlet valve leaking. Turn off one of the fill hoses – doesn’t matter which. If there’s no water in the drum in the morning, the one you turned off is the culprit. If there is water in the drum, the one left on has to be the guilty party.Always worth thoroughly cleaning the roof of the soapbox, BTW. Pricking out the little holes with a pipe cleaner or the like can produce surprising results…….

Thanks Peguin45
Does it still mean the valve need replacing if either one of the valves is leaking or can it be “fiddled” with to cure the fault.
The drain hose is not connected to the sink but goes straight into a waste pipe.
Thanks

The valves are for all intents and purposes sealed units so the only cure for a valve that lets water by is to replace it.

Hello gents,
My triple inlet valve arrived today,, I was a little surprised to find no eletrical connection wires or terminals on it,, is it just a case of it sitting on a contact plate.
I just wanted to check before I take the other one out in case there should be something else with it.

You should have a little PCB on the top, IIRC. Edge connector just pulls off and slips onto the new one. It should only fit one way.

Hello Penguin45.. Well new inlet valve fitted ok,, all holes in drawer cleande out.
Can you veryify for me please,, in the powder drawer where the conditioner goes there is a small round plastic piece which sits over the outlet for the conditioner. I am assuming that this piece sitting over the hole, as the water fills the container, the small amount of room between the wall of the round plastic and the wall of the exit creates a syphon allowing the conditioner to be sucked out.
Can you tell which way round the round plastic bit fits,, it can hook either front or back.
If I hook it to the back face, the top of the round bit sits a little proud of the drawer,, if I hook it to the front, it sits level with the drawer. We have done one wash but it didn’t take the conditioner although there is water in the compartment,,we have hooked it at the back to see if it makes any difference, other than that is there anything else I can check.

Just as well I’ve got a dead Blomberg round the back of the house…….. The syphon retainer goes to the left of the tube, push down to fully locate. You have of course cleaned inside the syphon cap, and down the syphon tube itself, as well as the drawer itself………

ParticipantRe: Blomberg 1501 AAA noisy at high speed spin
Hello again Penguin45.
Well I’m back again for some help please.
The 1501 has been operating fine since you last helped me out back in April and has been used at least twice a week with a full wash. Now suddenly when the wash has finished and it goes into full speed spin, it sounds really noisy as if its overloaded, but I know that is not the reason as it does the same with half a load.
I have run the program with just water in and it operates ok.
I have opened the door to turn the drum manually that feels and sounds the same as when it did after I had fitted the new bearings and brushes.
There doesn’t seem to be any unusual play in the drum side to side or back to front.I have also had a look at the suspension springs and legs they look ok.
Any help would again be very gratefully received,,, maybe its time to call it a day and spend some of my pension on a new Bosch. if that is the case would you recommend any particular model, but it need to have a good spin on it,, Thanks

He’s stalking me………….. 😀
Presumably something is working loose. You have done the bearings, so I’d check that the cross-piece bolts are secure, motor bolts, pulley bolt. The dampers can make odd noises, possible that the concrete weight is working loose.
If replacement is a possibility, look no further than here:

Hi Penguin45.. There is no concrete block, it has a cast iron collar, nut I will give all the bolts a good looking at.
Thanks.July 6, 2007 at 8:44 pm #209636internet
