I have just taken delivery of a Hoover HNV380 Tumble Dryer to replace an old Hotpoint one which was already vented through a brick wall. Unfortunately the diameter of the vent hose which came with the new dryer is much bigger than on my old machine and won’t fit my existing vent duct. Also because its so big it makes it difficult to fit the dryer into a corner, have had to leave room at the side for the vent hose, if I put it at the back of the dryer then it sticks out too much. This causes problems because it sits on top of my washing machine and if I pull that forward then I am unable to open the door of the utility room.

I am kicking myself now as if I had known about this I would have just ordered the condensor version but as I already had a vented dryer I assumed it would into place just the same.

    Any suggestions gratefully received.

The only correct solution would be to either relocate the dryer elsewhere or install another vent kit through the wall to match up. 😕

One of these required I reckon……..

Thanks for the advice. It isn’t possible for me to re-locate the dryer, and instead of installing another vent through the wall wondered if there was some kind of reducer to fit on the large pipe to enable it to fit the smaller vent duct. Or if its possible to fit a smaller vent hose on the new dryer by way of a reducer.

Why not attach this to your wall over the existing vent hole? As you can see it caters for various hose sizes and you attach your new larger hose with a large jubilee clip or cable tie. It is available by emailing spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk (quoting V/T46) 😉
