We have the Whirlpool awm219 and it recently ended its extended 10 year warranty.

The proble is that the machine will not drain the water after a wash. i have taken out the filter and checked the pipe for blockage but think the problem could be the pump. i can drain the water after selecting the drain setting approx 5 or six times but maybe the pump isnt pushing the water up the pipe?

    please give advise

    Thanks

Looks like you’ve got a blockage somewhere, the cure is a strip down to check the pump is clear and the drain hose unblocked.

Power off if you’re having a go yourself :zap:

The filter is clear, drainpipe is clear, how do I check the pump?
If it isn’t that what else could the problem be.

The fat pipe from the drum to the filter holds water could this be blocked?

    Thanks for your help clive

The machine is never quite empty. You say that you can drain it after 5 or 6 attempts – is this with the pump running, or does it take that many goes to get it running? If the former, yes there is a blockage somewhere – sock in the sump hose, 5p in the pump outlet for instance. If the latter, the pump may well be worn – have a read of this:

The pump if required is this one:

Easiest access to the pump is to remove the fron panel of the machine. Power off, of course.
