    Hi,
I have a fault on a Samsung fridge freezer.

I have defrosted the unit manually(switched off for 48hrs)

What happens is when you switch the appliance on the freezer and fridge eventually reach -18 and 5 respectively. So far so good. But then the temperature in both compartments rise although the display still says -18 and 5. If you switch the power off at the mains and then back on the display shows -5 and 17 which I think is the actual temperatures.

Anyone (R600a 😀 ) have any idea what is causing this?

samsungs show last knowm temp on the display when they go on defrost. so it will be a sensor o/load or heater problem.

Checked ths out and the evaporator heater in the fridge is open circuit.

Can this be replaced on its own or is it a whole evaporator and regas?

yeh but looking on the exploded view it looks like it all comes as one part.

can the heater be removed from the new part and fitted without having to replace it all as this would mean regassing.

The heater can be taken off the new old and fitted to the old evaporater.
