Participanthi,
i’m hoping that you will be able to help me solve our problem with the above washing machine. i know you have said to check through the forums but i just cant find the same problem to the same machine. sorry.
the washer has stopped half way through the cycle, and the control dial just keeps going round with the power light flashing slowly (not sure if this info helps, but i think it was 7 flashes to a full turn)? if i put the control dial to the rinse, it does nothing but the power light keeps flashing.
also do you have a contact number for ariston, so i can see if they still hold a manual for this machine, as i have tried searching the web and failed.
thank youMay 26, 2007 at 1:16 pm #215044Simon46

Count the flashes in between the pause. It will keep repeating.

8 flashes = New Heater and/or Main Circuit Board 😥

thanks frankieIt is possible, but is it worth it? New board plus eeprom will be around £100.00 and may not cure an 8 flash fault. 😥

I have the same 8 flash fault, however i can still use the quick wash cycle. It only resorts to the clicking round and the 8 flashes when i use a longer wash. Does this mean it is more likely to be the heater and not the main board?
Or really do i need a new washer??

The heater relay this fault code refers to is on the main board. It is a fault code that can actually arise for several other possible faults such as pressure switch, wiring connections etc, etc. 😥

Thanks Jim for the reply.
By wiring connections, could it be a possibility that some wires may have come loose through vibration and caused this?
I know it’s a long shot?June 24, 2007 at 9:44 am #215053Martin

All wiring connections on this machine are suspect, especially the module plug-in connectors and the NTC (thermistor) wires. Intermittent ‘8 flash’ errors can be the result of bad connections or faulty relays on the main board.
They are a pain in the Ar-is-ton that’s for sure. :rolls:
