Now that we’ve signed up to be a designated collection facility with John, it was with much amusement that we received this one with the first batch. :rotl:

Fantastic. Makes me wonder what the guy managed to do given that small area.

Reminds me of the early Candy machines. They had raw edges like that as well. Their trainer (Mel Barff) used to say the foam around the edges were not there to prevent you cutting yourself, it is there to soak up the blood.

The irony with the Zanussi’s, you took the back off and 17 tub bolts were accessible from the front. Now after 17 years you can take the front panel off, and they no longer use bolts, welded tubs.

I once went to a washing machine Bendix I think & the guy before me had cut the complete side out of it with an angle grinder, removed the tub, did a bearing replacement job put it back together, welded side panel back on with arc welder (blew holes all through it). Painted it up & charged custemer £40. I removed coin from pump & was lambasted for charging £40…

Bizzare! 😕 I wonder if it was repaired.

I must admit to doing something slightly similar to a new oven once  It was a slot-in single. I’d had it out of the packaging for 2 minutes, when I had to dent in the back, top corner because of a huge work-top backet 😕 Luckily I’m a great engineer, and I made sure it was all kosher!

    Shhh, don’t tell!

once went to a 95 where the customer had installed the machine flush into a side wall by knocking a hole through into the coal house. made access to the pump easy once I had moved all the bricks. god knows what the council thought!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to have an old electron on my patch like that.
Front of the machine was in the kitchen. To get the rear you went out of the back door into the outside loo and removed a wooden cover and there was the back of the machine!!!!
