ParticipantMy Ariston AWD12 Washer drier has developed the following fault;
When you set a programme the LED flashes to show it has accepted the instruction the light then stays on, the door locks and then nothing.
I have taken the kick board off any checked the chamber it seems to be clear.
The machine is about 2 years old and we hate it!! Constant resetting etc…so if a repair is going to be expensive I think a new machine will be on the books ….Not Ariston!!
Can anyone help with this problem, any advice would be greatly received.June 11, 2007 at 8:12 pm #216662Penguin45

This will be a problem with the computer board, almost dead cert. And yes, it would be expensive.
Much better machines out there……….

Thanks for the quick response Penguin.
My wife has just told me that she manged to get it through a complete cycle after the fault started then the fault came back.
Could this mean there might be a lose wire somewhere or am I just clutching at straws!!June 11, 2007 at 8:34 pm #216664hotpnt

Hello – I have an Ariston awd12S with similar fault and would be interested if the fault in this thread was ever resolved ?
My machine “sometimes” starts filling water if I am lucky… sometimes I have to “flick” the on/off button a couple of times and it starts filling. Then it stops filling and just sits there !
ALthough I noticed that if I leave it long enough (seemed like 30 minutes but was probably only a few) – it pumps out the water, the dial turns and I get 2 flashes from the fault led.
I notice that if I set the dial to the “empty drum” setting and power it up, it goes through that cycle and empties ok.
BUt I have not seen the drum move at all since this fault occurred, and have noticed on the forum that 2 flashes indicates “motor fault” (?) – so am hoping its a simple connection or brush replacement.Am fed up with this machine – had new temperature stat (TOC ?), new heater element on the drier, and new bearings and seal on the drum shaft !!
I also notice a very faint hummm from the machine when I turn it OFF !!! which goes away when I turn it on (using the on/off button on the front that is !)
Thanks for any advice (even advice to chuck the thing away!)
Steve

Hi ! Have posted another message under my last one, because I realised that I forgot to tick the box that says “notify me when a reply is posted” – so I thought I would post another message and tick the box this time !
Probably wont get any replies now ! 😥

Let’s start from the position that you’re not very happy with the machine. It’s not actually very good. In fact, it’s very poor on the quality stakes. Putting ‘indesit AND electronics’ into the SEARCH facility has immense comedy value as the truth is revealed.
However….. Check the motor brushes; info HERE. There are a few machines which last long enough to wear them out. If these are used up, a repair is a cost effective option. Anything else, I’d consider moving on.
Stay safe, power off if you’re going in.

F 15 is a dryer element fault, if the dryer element and stats are OK then sadly it will be more than likley that the main PCB has failed.

many thanks for the reply, i imagine it is cheaper to replace the complete machine if that is the case? 🙁

Definitely not a cheap repair, not the best machine on the market by a long way sadly. 😥
Worth putting a meggar/mulitimeter across the dryer element and checking the safety cut out stat first though.
Be sure to remove the mains plug first.
