AEG lavatherm 57700 condenser dryer started making a loud vibrating noise and I found out the drum wasn’t rotating. Upon opening saw the belt was quite loose and bits were shredded. Got a new belt and installed it but the noise is still there and the belt is loose. I have looked at the posts on this forum and made sure I route it in different ways but there doesn’t seem to be any way to tighten the belt. Ihave checked and it is the right size. Any help will be appreciated.

Went to sleep on it and the solution struck me at 2am in the morning. I saw which way the spring was pulling and I figured that the belt has to pull inthe opposite direction to give the belt tension.
There seems to be a bit of a squeak that has developed as the drum rotates. Any ideas? Have I got the beading and gasket at the back the wrong way round perhaps?
