Got a fridge freezer to repair 925886660-01. Evaporator solid ice, but fridge door has been left open whist running cause it smells. Turned defrost timer to heat all nicely sizzling away assisted with hairdryer ducts frozen in fridge. turned to run and within one week frozen again or cust complaining fridge too warm. am replacing defrost timer but what stops heater heating when it gets to certain temp during defrost and what controls fridge ducted air from freezer. Stat controlled also with slider on back wall of fridge colder/warmer with vent.
Is there a common fault with these?

Don,t know this model off top of my head but what i do know is if it has a mechanical timer as you describe, what “stops the heater when it gets to a certain temp” there is a defrost thermostat in line with heater that will only allow the heater to come on when the evaporator is frosted (during the defrost mode timed by the timer) if during this time the temp gets to a certain level before the end of the defrost cycle the stat will cut out the heater. From what you describe replacing the timer should solve the problem

Duct blocked after week again. Fitted new timer will wait and see. Just for info what happens if the stat fails. Does it run continuously? and is it an air temp stat?

I hear the defrost drain (whoopee cushion end)is to be pulled out on these models. Can copper wire twist be fitted into drain /fridge duct off heater to stop it icing?
