    My Hotpoint WD63 washer/dryer was in the middle of a drying cycle when it suddenly stopped, no suspicious noises etc just stopped.

    I have checked for power at the mains wall socket this was ok, also checked the fuse in the washing machine plug again ok. The power Light on the machine does not come on.

    Any suggestions please

    On/off switch or door interlock would be my favourites.

    Power off if investigating.

    Thanks for the response.

    I have changed the door interlock but still same.

    Have removed the ON/OFF switch and tested with a multimeter.
    Pins 4 & 6 close (ie short circuit) when switch is in the ON position but pins 3 & 5 remain open circuit in both ON and OFF positions. Could you confirm that this indicates a faulty switch.
