Can anyone email a list of error codes please? My present problem is error E6. What does this mean, and how do I fix it? A motor whirs for a short while and then it stops.

E6 is no drain detected in the time allowed. Is it actually draining?

Many thanks Penguin. It transpires that eggshell does not improve the draining! At the moment all is well.
But I am not sure if the draining pipe which connects with the sink drain is installed correctly, as it is possible that grease from the sink may be backing into the dishwasher pipe.

Make an “up and over” loop in the drain hose – water can only flow uphill with a pump.
Drain pump is pretty feeble – fine with water, just stops with solids. Remind the Mrs that it’s a dishwasher, not a waste disposal unit. We’ll nurse you through the bruises 😀 .
