ParticipantHi,
I have read through the various solutions to this problem but i am still struggling to find a fix for my dishwasher.
It is a 5 year old Neff integrated dishwasher. The model is:
S5443X1GB/29
I have followed the instructions on the forum and i know you are pretty sick of people asking this same question but honestly i have tried everything.
First i have removed the pump cover to reveal the propeller. This turns freely and i cannot find any blockages. I have then removed the non return valve. Just to make sure is this the black rubber bit opposite the propeller with a round dangerly thing on the bottom?.
I have then removed the waste pipe from the sink end and placed this into a bucket. I then tried the reset to empty out the machine. I can hear the pump running and when I quickly open the door i can see a lot of movement in the water. Nothing appears in the bucket though. To check for blocks i have blown down the waste pipe. There are no blocks because this causes lots of bubbles in the dishwasher. I have repeatedly tried to run a program and try the reset and i hear water moving around the machine but nothing comes down the waste pipe.
Can anyone help me please. Sorry for the long message but i thought it would be better if you knew what i have tried
Thanks Paul

Have you replaced the cover on the pump impellor ? This needs to be on for the pump to create the pressure to work . You may have cleared any blockage but need to replace the cover

Hi
If you removed the cover over the impeller (under filters held by 1 x Torx 20 screw), is there a chance you didn’t replace it?Greg

okay i feel a bit stupid but that has done the trick so i am a happy bunny.
thanks for your help.
the machine is 5 years old and i have only just moved in. Can you recommend any cleaning products you can run in the machine to keep the pipes nice and clear? I don’t think it has been very well looked after.
also i have pushed the non return valve back in. Does it matter which way round it goes? Obviously i don’t mean i put it in upside down 🙂
thanks again.

Hi
The best thing you can do to keep appliance happy is to make sure that the worst of the food is scraped off in bin and that the plates/pans are given a quick rinse under the tap prior to loading. This link may help also
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ge&pid=203 😀The non return valve needs to be in the postion that allows the flap to open away from the drain pump to allow waste water to be able to evacuate when pump activated.

Thanks i will take a look at the link.
So basically because it emptied out correctly and i heard it go down the waste pipe the non return value must be positioned correctly?
I had bought some Oust dishwasher cleaner but have not bothered using it yet? Do you recommend it or is this just for the inside of the machine?
Thanks again.

Personally I don’t use them as I find no need to, so I have no comment really to make on that subject.

okay cheers.
just one last thing
was i correct in thinking as it emptied out correctly and i heard it go down the waste pipe the non return value must be positioned correctly.
I made sure the round dangerly bit went in first.
does it matter which it is facing?
cheers

paul, as an old colston engineer …boring start to this….there were no “cleaners” then so what i suggest is..put a normal d/w tablet in…soft fairy(green) as recommended by ukw at their seminar, put d/w on the hottest wash programme and let it run. do this 2 or 3 times a year.

Hi,
sorry to bother everyone again.
I have had this problem once more since my last post. I went through the same procedure of removing the non return valve and then blowing down the waste pipe (nice). I didn’t notice any large bits of depris in the water after this. I fitted it all back together and it worked great.
I have noticed the other morning water that had not completely drained out. I ignored this as it was not alot. Then this morning it has done the same thing but its a little bit more this time. It is no where near the same level it was when i had the original problem.
I am quite happy to keep blowing down the waste pipe but doing it too often could damage my helath 🙂
Has any got any recommendations on how to clear this problem up for good.
Also i do clean off any bits of food before i put stuff in the dishwasher.
Thanks
Paul

paul, there will always be some water left in the bottom of the d/w.. the amount of water varies a bit but normaly the water level should be just lower than the top of the filter . if there is water which covers the base of the d/w then its too much. hope this helps.

ParticipantRe: Bosch/Neff Not Emptying
thanks.
i’ll give it another cycle and keep an eye on the level.
the dishes were very clean unlike the last time there was a blockage. i suppose this would indicate that it was able to empty the waste water during the cycle.
the water level is not above the top of the round filter thing but the water does cover the entire base of inside the dishwasher.

paul thats about right. keep an eye on it for the next few washes. you will find that whenever you select any prpgramme on a dishwasher you should hear the drain pump come in first then water enters.
