ParticipantHi there ,
I’m new to to this forum but I hope someone can help.I acquired a (used) Hoover DT999 recently – it was working OK in it’s previous home.
I successfully ran it through a sterilising cycle – but on trying the real thing , after about 3-4 mins I get a warning bleep and E5 appears on the display.
According to the manual, this means ‘Problem with Electronic Load Device’ – and the remedy is apparently ‘Call Service for assistance’.
Before I bin this machine – because I’m not paying £93 for a callout- can anyone assist please?

It’s to do with water level control – the flow meter is not signalling correctly. This is a tubine and reed switch device which is supposed to signal to the computer board. I assume that it’s jammed at the very least, or possibly broken.
Power off if having a poke about.

Thanks penguin, that sounds like what the problem is. Can you tell me where the switch is located, please?
In a worst case scenario – if it’s broken, what’s the answer – is it a part that can be replaced or is it too complicated because it’s linked to the computer board? 😕
Any advice gratefully received
Thanks again 🙂

It’s a white plastic tube type gizmo under the machine, in-line with the inlet valve. If you’re lucky, it could just be a poor connection.
It’s part number 91200523 if required – an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get things moving for you.

Sorry it’s been a while Penguin – my couple of days away extended a bit.
However, just to say that the dishwasher is up and running – thank you so much , it was what you said – the flow meter was jammed and was cutting off when the flow didn’t stop. A bit of a blowthrough and that was it!
Thanks again,
Saved me a bomb!
Regards
