ParticipantThis one takes the biscuit.Called to a Hoover Performa today with the door stuck, the machine was behind a cupboard door with a plinth at the bottom.Took the door off and looked for the screws to remove the plinth -no joy the plinth was stuck to the machine with silicone!I had to chisel this off (with the customers permission).I thought the m/c will pull out now -but again no joy-on looking closer and sliding a thin blade down the sides I realised that the whole m/c was siliconed in.Had to tell the customer it would be easier to dismantle the kitchen than pull the m/c out.
I’ve just done some Googling and found out there are kitchenfitters forums – I might have to chose my words carefully!

Participanthas a built in fridge once levitating in mid air.
all the feet was up and still it stayed there in mid air.
After taking the draws out discovered that fitter has screwed through the cupboard and into the side to fix it in and aftwer removing these screws find that there was no refrigerant in the dam thing.
I wonder why i did a report for mfi that the customer didnt get a new one as it was only 3 weeks old.

Had a classic last summer, called to customer because her CDA built in auto was jumping about. Spoke to the customer who said that it had damaged her worktop with its bouncing around. Tried to extract it but it would not budge – ‘customer indicated that the kitchen man had screwed it in to keep it stable’ Removed the four wood screws (two either side) which had been drilled through the kitchen cabinets and into the washer side. Got the machine out to find that the transit bolts had not been removed. Realising that this was going pear shaped, advised the customer to get the fitter back whilst at the same time taking photos. Drove away and within 500 yards was called and given a bollocking by the kitchen company and then subsequently by CDA. Emailed the pictures and low and behold have not heard any more. :rolls:

Having to trudge to the corner shop in 6 foot of snow clasping 1/6D in halfpennys and farthings just to buy another mantle so as we could see to eat us supper!

B/I dishwasher wouldn’t come out after removing all the screws.
Wound all four legs up still no joy.
Gave it an almighty tug (after getting customers permission) only to find it had been screwed into the units from inside before the worktops had been fitted :eeek:
Then there’s the countless decor doors stuck on with NO NAILS !!!!
The manufacturers do the installation instructions in picture format now for the benefit of illiterate installers but they still manage to c0ck it up!Steve
