ParticipantHi I have a Hotpoint FF93S which is 6 years old. I have read all the advice re fridge not cooling and so far both thermistors have been changed and today Hotpoint also replaced the Module Procond 3 (control unit?). The problem still remains though.
Freezer reading -22 and working
Fridge reading +23 and not working
The unit has been defrosted cleaned etc does anyone have any ideas on what may be the cause or should I give up and buy a new FF?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you’ve paid Hotpoint to fix it I’d get them back to put it right.

Thanks Kwatt, I have an extended breakdown policy which as it stands I can get my money back on or I can continue to pursue the repair! Trouble is I don’t think they (Hotpoint) know what to do next!

If it is 6 years old then you’re likely to get a “contribution” to a new one if it can’t be repaired, not a straight replacement machine in most cases. Of course that depends on the policy but for most this will apply after the initial five years is up.
Given that you’d likely get less than half the value of a new one if that’s case it may be better to pursue a repair.

K. Ok thanks, I will pursue a repair. Do you think it could be the fan that supplies the cold air from the freezer to the fridge or do you have any ideas on what could be at fault?

OK I have at last got the repair completed and as I suspected it was the fan!!!! So with all the parts that Hotpoint have changed I hope this will give a few more years service.

😀Sadly it is easy for them to throw parts at the appliance it’s the easiest way for some of thes guys to get through their work load in a day and possibly overcome their lack of skills. 🙁 Hope your unit gives you years of satisfaction
