Found these hose clip pliers in a motor-trade tool shop the other day.

They are perfect for fitting the metal clamps found on many dishwasher internal hoses.

These are not for the spring clips. They are for crimping the metal band types.

Only used them yesterday for the first time. I used it on the supplied hose clip that comes with the merloni dishwasher pump. I’m sure it will work on any crimped type clip that we see in this industry.

what “supplied clip” is that then? I never seem to get any. These pliers look like Clic type. Works on quite a few but not on the re usuable types. IME its not the tool that is hard to find (I have 3 different ones) it sourcing the clips themselves that is the problem.

Not sure whether this company can deal with small orders, but their range is quite impressive…

I know this is an old thread but has anyone used the pliers? I am tempted but I’m not sure if the originally fitted clips are up to another clamping. I have just done a Hotpoint D/W heater but jubilee clips are either a tight fit or way too large. There is a tread on thin clips but if these pliers are good then it would be a good addition to my kit.

those pliers will work fine on the Indesit heaters etc, as I said though its the clips that are hard to come by and even if you order the Hairer part numbers they still wok out over £2 each.

    Thanks Mark,
I was thinking if the old ones could be used but maybe it’s a bit risky.

no the old clips are not re-usable and not worth the risk IMO

I often re-use these clips; it’s not a problem provided you don’t open them up too far when you remove them so that they come apart. To re-clamp them i use an old-fashioned pair of pincers; the type used to remove nails. A good alternative are narrow jubilee clips which are easily available from, I think, Vauxhall spares counters but Simon46 has more info on that as he got me some.
