Hello newbie here. I have the following problems.
8 year old dishwasher failed to empty water after cylcle then failed to fill and kept running dry without turning off .
I took side panel off cleaned tubes and the filling unit. Turned machine on. Now all it wants to do is empty water. I filled the machine manually and it just empties and nothing else.
Next I took front switch panel off and now the on button won’t stay on.
DOUBLE DOH! 😳

sounds ike the base could be full of water…but as Penguin says, model number required – should find it etched o n the top of the inner door

Been away for a month 8) . I found a number on the door, SGS5312GB/12. Hope this helps…

This is the machine built on a tray. If it floods, a polystyrene float rises up and lifts the red rod, working the over-ride switch next to the level switch. Check for water in the tray – you say you have stripped the matrix, so check for correct re-assembly and location of the red rod.

Thanks Penguin for your patience and quick response,
At last some progress after thoroughly cleaning the matrix I now have water entering the machine but I have to hold the switch – it is not catching. I will take this off and investigate (with the power off of course!).
