My integrated dishwasher has stopped washing. It seems to wet everything and then stop. Sometimes it releases the soap tablet, but it does not fully dissolve. Was working fine prior to this. I’ve washed out the filters and rotor arms.
We are in a very soft water area: Taunton: TA1 3EJ
The power light is flashhing: four flashes then a break.
The serial number is 33 0327 013641
TYPE: NGPM
other number: service: 8545 001 15710
I have tried holding the power button for 20 seconds.
Any tips?

If you open the door when it’s running, do you get wet?

No – if the circulation motor was running, it would be spraying even as you open the door. You should at least see water dripping from the top rotor arm.

There is definately water circulating. It just does not seem to do the whole wash cycle. Are you saying the pump is broken or leaking?
Do you know what the flashing power light indicates? It flashes four times then stops for a second.

Four flashes is drain failure – drop in water not detected in the time allowed. Usual problem is the black grid in the sump. This is the water level diaphragm switch and it fills up with semi-congealed fat and grease. You may get lucky scrubbing it out with a toothbrush and hot water, you may have to remove it for cleaning. It’s a twist fit from underneath.
Power off, of course.
Motor is probably OK – for now 😀 .

Boiling water + caustic soda + a bit of scrubbing at the black grid by the filters and all working nicely now.
Thank you for the help. I did not even need to get under the machine.
I’ll make sure I use a dishwasher cleaner more regularly from now on.

Same machine has started playing up again.
this time it is flashing twice.

Hello again……
Water has leaked into the base tray under the machine and the flood protection float has been activated. This over-rides the programme. Drain the tray; if you get a repeat, find the leak. Bear in mind the link further up the thread about the naughty habits of your circulation motor.

It was the old faithfull split pipe on the pump. Ridiculous that you can’t replace the pipe. Has no-one come up with a replacement pipe for it?
Not sure it is worth repairing – it has been a fairly crap piece of machinery from the beginning!
Can you recommend a good replacement? Your online recommendations seem to be out of date.
I need a full size, semi-integrated ( I think that is what they call them – the bottom panel matches the kitchen units, the top panel has the controls) white machine. Not too bothered about how many functions it has – only used one on the old one.
What is the best value reliable machine around these days, and can you recommend a good suppier.
