    Ok Personal problem.

I have in my own kitchen a bosch single oven Hbn5605 and a bosch induction hob pie645.
When they were wired in I researched the wiring online and through sparkis I know and all agreed that the oven and hob could be wired in tandem to a 6mm cable to a 40 amp dedicated fuse via an isolated cooker switch.
As far as I remember the oven is 3.5kw and the hob 6 or 6.5kw

Oven has gone wrong , no display lights etc but has power to the back so main board has blown.
I called up bosch 2 weeks back and this morning an engineer came out and said “ooh never seen that done before I am going to have to get in touch with our tech department and see if thats ok.”
which I suppose is fair enough but he did’nt even have the right board on board.

So question is .. Am I ok with both appliances being wired into the same circuit.

Re: Bosch oven and induction hob

By tandem I assume you mean in parallel as neither appliance would work connected in series. I can’t believe he has not seen that before as most oven/hobs are done like that. If the oven takes more than 13 amps and needs say a 16amp MCB you would really have to run an extra cable to the consumer unit, if there were any spare spaces. I can’t see many people going to that trouble/expense. If the oven takes less than 13 amps you can take a spur off the cooker switch to a fused outlet or socket/plug.

Engineer Has got back in touch saying “the technical department has said thats ok .”

Now just got to pin down a call out time which means I am stuck without an oven for at least another week.
In theory I could get the part and install it in no time but gotta love the 2 year g/tee.
    🙂
    Thanks John
