ParticipantHi, I have decided to replace my leaking Blomberg and am trying to decide between tissue paper (ie £179 and the certain knowledge that I will just replace it in hopefully 3 yrs) or quality ISE or Miele.
Because my living area is open plan can you tell me the dBs of the ISE and Miele plse.
ThanksOctober 22, 2007 at 1:23 pm #231754Martin

You didn’t specify which models of ISE & Miele?
The ISE 5 (CI555WH) as a max dB of around 60, so a whole lot quieter than that aged Blomberg of yours that’s for sure!
Miele don’t generally state the dB levels on any of their washing machines as far as I know? 😉

Whoops – I was looking at the ISE5 but am shocked by the 60dB. That is noisy given that dBs are exponential. Most of the cheap ones in the shops are under 56dB many around 54dB.
Hmmm food for thought as the reviews on Miele’s customer service are poor but if the machine works who cares after 10 years Id probably want a change of machine anyway.
Do any owners have any comments? It will be placed on a concrete floor. My Blomberg is actually quiet during the wash but I can only use the 600 spin because the 1300 sounds like a rocket and bounces around so much it is quite scary.

KeymasterThe ISE 5 is about 56db from memory but I’d have to check it to be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure, it’s not 60db.
The ISE 10 is 54db.
Both are considered quiet and unintrusive.

Hi Beep,
I finally snapped and put together this article which will explain why I always advice people that the dbA ratings are a total and utter waste of time IMO.
