    hi,
    HNC160-80
    31100067

this dryer is completely dead except for the red “on” light when start is pressed.
door interlock OK, supply OK, front red spot stat OK, had the drum out to check wiring and float switch, all seems OK.
Is there something i’ve missed or is it the timer maybe?
if so has any one a part number for it?
    thanks.

    Re: hoover dryer dead

Has this dryer got a display board on it with a triangular neon under the word start?

If it has then the on light comes on when the on/off button is pushed in. The triangular start neon should then flash until you press start.

If the on light is on but the triangular start neon dosen’t flash then I would assume the pcb is at fault.

Hope i’ve got the right model. 😕

    p.s

If its not the model I said… it might be just the start pcb as on the previous range.

if it’s the start relay why haven’t i got power to the heater?and i would have thought by keeping the on switch pushed in i would have got motor action untill i released the button.

and i would have thought by keeping the on switch pushed in i would have got motor action untill i released the button

On this model is it turn timer dial and press start?

Or is it turn timer dial, switch on/off switch on, and then press start?

    Re: hoover dryer dead

It has got the little start run PCB on board. If it won’t do anything at all, you’ve probably lost a neutral somewhere. Down the front near the pulley wheels is a good bet, or yes, perhaps the timer.

That’s correct John, holding the start button in the motor would turn and at least you would hear the timer motor turning!

Do you want these wiring diagrams I have or what? 😉
