WD420 drying fault

    Have customer with Hotpoint WD420 cold fill. With only very small load customer complains it takes 2/3 hours on drying cycle then clothes still hot & moist, no lights flashing. Called in did quick check but have not had much to do with this model. can anyone help guide me on this please. Does machine have component or test programme. Regards clayside

    Hi Clayside,

    sounds like the valve for the condenser is not working.Also check sump is clear of any blockages.Hope this helps. 🙂

    further to my last post, condenser itself could be gunged up and needs cleaning.

    You need to take the heater box of the top of drum and I think you’ll find the cause of problem….Fluff (9 times out of 10) also check to make sure the cold valve is letting water thru…

    Thanks for all advice, machine long way from base so thought best to ask. I’m going on Thursday will let you know.

    Been today, removed heater box filter at back blocked with fluff.
    Cleaned it all out, Wait and see time. Thanks for advice. Regards clayside
