Got a WF840 in the rinse / spin cycles, machine will try to go into spin a full 15 seconds before the pump kicks in. The result is water splashing through the soapbox and a wet floor. There are no error codes showing. I have checked for the usual. Coins in the pipework etc. and the pump is quite free. Any ideas please. Could this be electronic problem??
This is a classic symptom of a partial blockage , like a sock or colour catcher thing in the sump hose filter.
This model does give the drum a bit of a fast turn (during rinses) and if enough water has not been pumped out , it’s forced back out the soap drawer.
Don’t know about the delay in the pump starting but I’d keep things simple and pay very close attention to the sump hose.
Thanks Phil that’s what I thought. Customer has paid my call out charge 😀 and is now going to contact Hotp so as to get the board under the 5 year parts and then pay them £90. 😯
Thanks Bryan, Just to be sure I’ll go back on Monday and double check. After all I think she would be quite justified in expecting me to pay Hotpoint if all it was, was a sump blockage. But the delay in the pump starting does bother me.
