Hotpoint FDW75 dishwasher.
Attended this silver – coloured heap last week and found that the base was flooded. Cause – blow hole in the outlet hose. The hole looked as if it had been melted with a soldering iron tip from the inside – neat and raised. 😕
OK, thinks I, easy job; new hose fitted, everyone’s happy.
Called back today and the new hose is holed exactly as before and flooding over the components, blowing trip…… 👿
The hole is where the outlet hose leaves the pump and just after the rubber connection cuff. It is the closest part to the heater; but when I fitted the new hose I made every effort to get it as far away as possible from the heat source. I assume it is the heater melting the hose; what I can’t understand is why it is a pinhole with no surrounding damage.
Anyone else had this problem? There is little room to reposition the hose as it is already tight as it is. My only option now seems to be to cover it in a foil sleeve. But that’s not it’s original design………:?
Any thoughts?
Steve.
