ParticipantHi, My machine programme dial keeps turning round, and the error code it appears to be reporting is number 4 (counting the flashes). Can someone tell me what it could be?
Have checked and cleaned the filter, checked the inlet hoses are not blocked, and checked no kinks in the waste pipe. The machine just pumps out water whilst the dial is turning round, so seems like water in/out is working okay. Also if I put it onto a drying cycle, the drum turns for a short while so looks like the drum/motor is okay too.
Any ideas what fault code 4 means?
Thanks, Steve.November 13, 2007 at 2:50 pm #233835Martin

The water level switch jammed on empty is what it means. So possibly you may need a new Pressure Switch or at least check out the water level system firstly. Pressure Switches are a regular known weakness and can damage the main control module when they fail too? 😥
With Ariston the problems go on and on and on and on….. :rolls:

Thanks Martin,
How would you recommend getting this fixed? Ariston have quoted me £95 to come out and repair it, or do you know a better option?? (P.s. I’m in the Surrey area)November 14, 2007 at 2:49 am #233837vanstrada

Why do you say the problems go on and on . Is it not a reliable brand or machine ? Help in Australia

blow into the pressure switch, if this is ok then try clearing the memory, place dial on any spot at end of cycle, turn machine off, then on. select drain cycle, if machine drains then select another spot re do previous instructions, then select desired wash program

Thanks, I’ve tried resetting the machine in various ways, including how you describe, and it still seems to go into error mode. Where is the pressure switch? Is this something for an engineer, if so is the Ariston quote of £95 reasonable??
Cheers. -
