We have a Bauknecht tumble dryer which has become extremely noisy.
It is noisier when the drum is rotating in one direction than when it rotates in the other.
There does not appear to be anything mechanically wrong inside and the problem seems to be vibration. It was very quiet when new but has developed this problem over time. It is so loud that you cannot hear yourself speak when standing next to it.
It is on a flat level surface and does not “travel” when in use.
We have cured the problem to some extent by sticking the removable top to the machine firmly with gaffer tape, standing the machine on a piece of polystyrene packing material and wedging an old towel under the base, in the space between the drum housing and the floor.
Is this a known problem, and is there anything we can do to make a better repair? ❓

What model of bauknecht tumble dryer you have.Usually all have the same way of driving and drum is seated on four plastic wheels, two on the front and two on the back.Other might be,you should to check out the belt from the motor around the drum, also the tension rollers on the belt.Other thing is to check out if the drum touching somewhere in the frame or gap between the drum and seal panels on the front and back.
