    Advice required please.

Zanussi is a make i don’t normally repair. I don’t have the TDS disc.

Reported fault is the lights are on, door clicks, but nothing else.

    Thanks.

It’s the same as all the other Zanussi’s Tim with an EMW2000 board in it. Just suss out those error codes etc etc and away you go! 😉

Oh! Do get a TDS disk by the way….priceless info for bugger all money! 😀

thought that might be the case.

As i am going tomorrow and have no TDS disc can you tell me how to access the error codes and what the error codes are?

    Thanks.

This type of fault can often be attributed to a loose edge connector on the pcb at the front of the machine – disconnect it squeeze connections together and reconnect, might be all that’s needed 😉

Good luck! could be Xmas come early 😀

Have you ever looked in the sticky in this forum “Known Error Codes?” 😉

    Yes thanks.

The only Zanussi codes I can find relate to the “EWM1000” pcb.

Are these codes and test procedure the same for the

    EMW2000

    PCB?

Yes, they are very similar 🙂

Don’t forget to add a TDS to your list for Santa! 😉

Great. Finally feel like I’ve got somewhere. 😀

Thanks Martin for your ‘maze’ like guidance. 😉

Thanks Brian for your suggestion about the edge connector. Lets hope its just that. Nothing like being prepared though.

    Cheers.

    Right here we go……….

when you turn the selector the leds light as they should.

when you press start the door clonks three times. then the second and eigth light flash. (leds 2 and 8). Now if i have worked this out correctly this is error 41 door problem?

I have tried to put it into diagnostics mode by doing the start and one option button pressed while turning selector once clockwise. I cannot get it to go into diagnostics.

Do you think this is just a door interlock problem or board fault.

I have checked all wiring and insulation tested the machine, all ok.

    Thanks.

OK, error E40 or E41 does relate to it being a faulty Interlock, so first option would be to replace it. Also it is worth noting that the m/c tries to access the programme within a time-scale of just 15 seconds….after that it displays an error code whenever possible? 15 seconds may well be the time period you observe for the Interlock to click just 3 times?

The other likelyhood is that the Interlock itself has blown the triac on the main board and only trying a new Interlock will help solve that possibility? The conclusion therefore being both Interlock and PCB required! 😯

    HTH? 😉

Went to an aeg machine, which was just dead. Main controll PCB (ewm2000) stunk of burnt electronic components. Changed it along with the interlock and customer is happy. Its just a bit spooky having to play around with modules when we dont really understand them. I hate this job, but I love it really. Bit like my wife..
