    Hi All

I have the above make of washing machine and currently when it reaches its draining stage it makes a grinding noise and no water drains from the machine at all.

I have cleaned the debris filter and checked all pipes including the waste pipe and can find no blockages.

The Drain pump itself has a propeller on it which is very loose, however still attached. It does move from side to side and in and out (if you get what i mean). Could this be the noise or could it be the bearings inside the motor?

Any advice would be gratefully received as would be where i can purchase new pump if required!

    Cheers

If you turn the pump impellor by hand, it should “ping” every quarter of a turn. If it just turns freely with no resistance, the pump motor is goosed.

hi, the pump impellor shouldnt be very loose it should give a little resistance when it is turned and spring back as the field coil is magnetic, it is a common fault on this type of machine,
plug out if you go any further.
