Question for the Hotpoint lads.
Went to this 13 month old machine today, complaint of display going back to 13 minutes.
Set it to drain and display showed 2 minutes it then progressed to END without any problems.
Set to short spin, display shows 13 minutes, goes through a very short spin, then stops, timer counts down a few minutes then at 5 minutes on display it starts filling, it empties out and fills again, advances to the 1 minute display then reverts back to 13 minutes and starts all over again. 😥
I have referred customer back to Hotpoint, I assume the PCB or Eeprom is goosed. Would you be able to clear this just by re writing the eeprom or would it definitely need a new PCB.
Is likely to be the main PCB or the console module?

More than likely the power board,cant see rewriting eeprom doing much good.I take it that there were no earth leaks?

Didn’t get that far TBH, was severely pushed for time and the installation would have meant half an hour getting it out.
As a percentage, how often do you get away with an eeprom rewrite?

Faults like this sometimes clear with a rewrite, problem is most engineers are shit scared to try it for the fear of a recall or the dreaded 3 day recall, they will lob in a module and eeprom every time i usualy try ones like that with a rewrite and it usualy cures most of the time.

I usually try rewrite,you can get some queer motor faults that will clear up with a new file downloaded.I would say about 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} are succesfull with just a new eeprom file.
