Whirlpool has announced a number of changes within the organisation that will affect the brand in the UK.
Ian Railton has been promoted to general manager, Northern Europe, and is responsible for the Nordics, UK and Ireland. Mr Railton is now based in Stockholm, Sweden.
Darren Harrison, who was previously head of service for Northern Europe, has been promoted to market director UK, reporting directly to Mr Railton.
Many of us will know Darren from his days with NESN and subsequently with Whirlpool.
Mr Railton said: “Darren has achieved significant successes within customer service during his time with Whirlpool, and I am confident that his strong leadership skills and relentless drive will be critical in achieving Whirlpool’s growth ambitions in the UK over the coming years, starting with the launch of a number of exciting new products in the market in 2014, focused on bringing innovation to consumers.”
Ian Knight, formerly channel manager retail, has been promoted to head of service, Northern Europe, replacing Darren Harrison. Mr Railton added: “Ian has a wealth of experience in both commercial and operations roles, and this will be invaluable as he continues to build on the great work done by Darren over the past years.”
