The Indesit name is to vanish from Peterborough after the company’s acquisition by Whirlpool was completed replacing Indesit and formerly Hotpoint.
Indesit employs about 1,000 people at its site in Morley Way had a majority bought by the Whirlpool Corporation in October last year.
It has taken a year to fully integrate the two companies, which will operate under the name Whirlpool UK Appliances Ltd.
Whirlpool is reported to have acquired a 60% stake in the Italy-headquartered Indesit after paying €758 million.
Ian Moverley, brand communications director for Whirlpool UK Appliance, said: “Following the acquisition of Indesit Company by Whirlpool Corporation in October 2014, we are pleased to confirm that we have now completed the integration of our Whirlpool and Indesit businesses in the UK.
“As of October 1 this year we are operating as one merged company under the name of Whirlpool UK Appliances Ltd.
He added: “This is a major milestone for Whirlpool UK Appliances and moves us one step closer to growing our business and achieving the ambitious targets we have set ourselves for 2015 and beyond.”
He said that Whirlpool UK Appliances would operate out of its offices in Peterborough.

In June 2018 i ordered screws and an oven handle. The screws came but were not the right kind, so i called up your company and a second type of screw was sent out. These were also the wrong kind so i called again and a third type of screw was sent out. The third type were exactly the same as the first type! In my frustration i called your company and told them to cancel the order.
Two weeks ago in [b]October 2019[/b] my credit card was charged 59.28 for the purchase of an oven glass door that has been delievered to my parents house. I called your company to find out what was going on and they were just as suprised as i was. They could not find any order. Then when they checked their records for the previous year, 2018, they said this was supposed to have been delivered with the oven handle and the screws in June 2018 but because it was not in stock at that time it was being delivered now, nearly 18 months later.Please could you cancel this order and refund the amount on my credit card
