ParticipantHi ,
Washing machine grief this timeβ¦ π
Just before the spin cycle the machine stops.
I disconnected the hose held on by a jubilee clip and water whooshed out along with a 20p piece!
Mopped up, plugged it all back in and bingo! Spin cycle started all fixed π (so I thought)
Started a normal cycle from scratch and exactly the same thing happened. Just before the spin cycle, stops full of water. π‘
Pump coil gets hot so I’m assuming power to it.The outlet hose was lying on the floor, I manually held it up to the machine, still no help. :rolls:
Our engineer is busy till 12th Feb. Please Help! (two young kids, clothes already mounting up π₯ )
Thanks
JonB

Have you actually removed and dismantled the pump?
Power off beforehand.Penguin45.

Well done.
I think the long term solution is that Bates’ has got to put his hand in his pocket and do the job properly,

Gone wrong again π₯
Done all the usual checks. Checked the pump. The pipe that drains the water away is clear.
Spin cycle finishes but the door release wont engage. I want my washing!Anyone now how to release the door? Or what the problem could be?
I’ve had the top off, found where the push switch goes, gave it a tug no help. Thanks in advance.
Cheers

t door wont open if it has water in it you should take the sump hose off th black concertina one oing from the tub to the pump and if there is a plastic ball and rubber seating in it throw them away, also check that there isnt a blockage in the grey drain hose coming from the pump at the pump end and at the other end.
it may need a new pump if no blockages.
plug out of course.December 19, 2009 at 5:47 pm #241955helo_75
Participantthe pump will be faulty

Thanks for the speedy feedback π
suedehead1:
I took the both hoses off (and removed the pump for a check) no blockage. A little water drained, made no difference.helo_75
Tilted it back for 1 min then tried door (whilst still tilted back) door still wont open.Cheers

If the machine hadn’t spun and there wasn’t much water left in the machine then the fault is due to a blocked pressure chamber. This is a white vessel at the front of the machine. A blockage here will hold the door locked as well.
You will probably find the door opens this morning. π
This vessel controls the water level so don’t be tempted to try the machine until you’ve cleaned it out.
You must unplug the machine before attempting the repair. And you must be careful to allign and seal the vessel before running a cycle.
