ParticipantHi folks
We’ve had a Zanussi ZWD1270 washer/dryer for nearly 3 years and generally no problems but today notice that at the bottom of the machine on the left hand side, it seems to be leaking water and causes a small puddle 🙁
Machine is working fine in terms of cycling and doing its job and the leakage happens when it is on the washing cycyle.
Any ideas what the problem may be before I ring up an engineer?
I’m in west London, so also any idea what cost for an engineer to come out and take a look as well?
cheers!February 2, 2008 at 9:58 pm #241997helo_75

If its half way thru then i would tend to ask does the machine drain thru a stand-pipe and is your plumbing blocked?

Not being a techie or DIY type of person, not really sure how to check it so will probably need someone to come in and take a look.
Any idea how to find someone to take a look and avoid being ripped off? I’m in the west London area.
cheers

Check the conditioner compartment is’nt blocked. Take out the drawer and make sure it’s all clean. Sometimes the syphon Pipe gets blocked which can cause the machine to leak durin the last rinse. It cant syphon away quick enough so some wather comes out the drawer, down round the inside of the door and onto the floor. You dont normally see the water trickling out unless you look closely.
Good luck

Participantok, did all that but have had a leak.
We did a rinse and water seemed to be coming out form around the rim of the door.
Any thoughts on what the problem may be?

If it’s not tracking around the door frame from a soap box dribble, you are really only left with the door seal.

thanks. interesting that previously before i cleaned it, the only leak was towards the bottom left hand side, but after cleaning it and then doing a rinse, it should leak in such a bigger way.
Meanwhile, i’ve used the service to get an engineer.
As a ballpark figure any idea what cost I would be looking at?

Difficult one to answer – we charge £45 for the hour oop ‘ere in’t frozen North – I imagine London rates will be rather higher. You should discuss it when you make the appointment to avoid any nasty surprises. The door seal will run out £20-30 if required.

hi guys
just put the dryer on and water still leaked out of the door, maybe left from previous?
Also, got an e10 message.
Have we turned a minor problem into a major one?
All I did was clean the top draw and also empty the drain hose…
Any thoughts?

Yup, something is way off here. On dry, there is no water entering the drum or the soap drawer. Water only comes in through the condenser housing. Water can only exit the machine under these circumstances from underneath.
Time to let your engineer get on with it.

Hi guys
I just called Serviceforce, price quoted was £69 for call out and labour plus parts and VAT.They said price is the same regardless if it takes 30 minutes or 3 hours.
Is that a good price for west London?
I’m still awaiting a response from the repairs form I submitted on the site.
cheers
