    Ariston Margherita 2000 Washer Dryer
    Mod ALD10

Trying to fix for a friend. Previously it delayed starting for no reason and later had to be switched off to stop spinning. Now no power and no functions, No problem with the socket or plug and I’ve had a quick ‘poke’ around inside and found no obvious problems like loose / burnt wires etc (not sure were an internal fuse may be) except I found a broken rubber belt 5mm diameter in section and 180mm diameter overall at the back end of the machine at the bottom

    Any advice would be great

I’d previously posted this on the Margherita more problems but I think the thread’s died…

The most likely casue if the problem is the very unreliable Indesit electronics, no internal fuse as such.

Seriously expensive parts, poor quality machine. 😥

The small ‘belt’ sounds unusual, unless one of the condensor seals has come adrift, can you post a picture of it?

    Thanks for the reply

One of your recommended engineers went round today. The motor had shorted and burnt out the PCB, he estimated it would cost £280 – 300 to repair.

So a new machine then and definately not an Ariston!
