Hi, my Hotpoint BFI620 appears to have stopped working and hasn’t emptied propertly. I have checked the filters and pipes and cannot see any problem. The program indicator has lights 1 & 2 (heavily soiled wash and normal day wash) from left to right flashing together which is not listed in the manual. Can anyone help?

    Regards.

    Chris.

Re: Hotpoint BFI620 – Error code

I’m afraid its drag it out of its hole time.

Lights 1+2 signify a drain time out error in most cases, it can be a software recognition error but that is not common.

The likeliest cause is a pump blockage, the filters on these Indesit machines are not the best and if you don’t rinse your dishes off before you put them in or allow small fragments of glass, bone, wood, chipped crockery etc to get through the filter it will stop the pump.

Mains plug out. towels all around and tilt it back or onto its left hand side looking from front. Access to the drain pump is from underneath after removing the base plate.

Sorry, never got round to thanking you for the informat. Dragged it out and it was a lemon pip in the pump.

A Lemon eh, I’m sooo tempted to state the obvious, :rolls: 😉

Glad to hear you sorted it and thanks for letting us know the outcome. 8)

    8) Cool site – just educated me a little more !!

Had the same problem – the above help was right on the button. Identified the drain pump, removed it and the culprit was a small shard of glass. Now up and running.

    Many thanks 😀 😀 😀
