Just wondered if anyone else has come across this problem?

When fitting a new door (pt No. 052569) to an old Ariston FV37GB-(WH) I found the fittings on the inside of the door on the right hand side are about 3mm lower than the left.

This means the door handle doesn’t fit straight at the top of the door and the r/H hinge won’t fit between the clip and the bottom of the panel.

Connect have sent out replacement doors but on measuring they look as if I’m going to have the same problem.

I have spoken to Connect who say they haven’t had any other problems with this stock!

As far as I can tell this is a manufacturing fault, has anyone else found this?

Re: Problem with fitting Ariston oven door.

Connect sent out another 2 doors to try but they were the same. I returned these and they sent another which appeared to be from a different batch (packed differently).

All doors had the same problem, as the customer had waited for a few weeks now without an oven I decided had no option but to ‘make it fit’.

I raised the tab where the R/H hinge clips under (which damaged a small section the enamel on the other side of the panel) and elongated the hole in the handle to allow it to sit flush with the top panel.

I find it ridiculous to have to botch a repair to get a genuine part to fit reasonable.

    Good old Merloni!
