Hotpoint WD71 washer drier. Serial no. 71106632.

Display showing E30 fault (motor issues). This machine runs an FHP digital motor. Changed the worn brushes – they were low but not completely out. The motor checks out with a test meter and the loom seems fine but still E30. 😕
I have not known a PCB fail on these; but could no supply from the PCB throw up an E30? There is certainly no relay ‘click’ to be heard; just 10 seconds of pump then fault.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Steve.

assuming E30 responds to tacho impulses then yes, the pcb could be at fault. Pressumed you have looked very closly for cracked/dry joints?

Well if the motor and wiring (Rast connector etc) checks out OK then it must be the Power Module (Relay No 1 sticking or whatever) I would think….?? 😕

Some of these have a small inline cartridge with a ‘fast blow’ fuse in a black holder in the motor harness, have you checked that?

It will blow if there is an item of clothing stuck in the drum.

    Jim.
