ParticipantMy washing machine is giving me grief, the other day I was walking through the house and there was a bit of a burning smell which I tracked to the W/M. The cycle seemed to be going ok and there was no smoke or obvious heat so left it running as it had nearly finished. A few minutes later I checked back and all the lights were flashing and it had stopped mid cycle. It allowed me to drain the water out and open the door.
Now, when I go to start a new cycle it fills with water as normal but when it start to do its first spin / rotate it does about half a turn, freaks out and all the lights flash. It does then allow the drain cycle to release the water and open the door.
Any idea’s what the problem is/could be? The father in law seems to think its the water pump but as its draining / filling fine so I’m not convinced. The W/M is only about 14 months old (although it is a budget machine). It may also be worth mentioning that I have a dog and regularly have clothes / dog beds in the wash that are covered in her hair.
Any advice would be gratefully received before I give to the old iron men!
Cheers.

Okay, Baumatic can be anything badged as Baumatic so we really need the correct model number to help you.
IF it is that machine then we need to now what lights are flashing as that’s an error code which, while it won’t tell you exactly what’s wrong, it may give you a clue on where to start looking. It does sound motor related though.
The good news is that if that model number is correct then parts should be available pretty cheap although they may take a while to get if we can’t track some UK stock.
However a budget machine like that I would not say is suitable for washing dog bedding in if it’s regular, pretty much no budget machine will be. 😉

Cheers for the info, just been reading through the manual myself. I’m pretty certain this is the model.
All 3 of the lights are flashing, which, according to the manual means that the motor has failed (makes sense).
Err 07
The START/
PAUSE light,
PROGRAM
READY light
and PROGRAM
END lights are
blinking.The Motor has failed.
Shut down your machine and
unplug it. Turn off the water
tap and call your nearest
authorized service centre.Looks like I need a new motor? Any idea about 1)place to get one 2) cost and 3) ease of fitting?
Thanks again.

It would be a special order that I can add to the shop easily for you if required and is roughly about £53 plus VAT and shipping from the info I have, but that could change dependent on current pricing as this info is about a year or so old.
Easy to fit to us but probably not so easy for the inexperienced. 😉
