Participanthi folks . having aproblem with my 2 year old hotpoint wf560 around 3 weeks ago . on wash it just keeps going on and on it wont finish the cycle. have to cancel turn the knob to empty then do a rinse and spin which works normaly.
the red lights which flash are 2,3,and 4 along with the on/ off switch.
checked the drain pipe, the pump and the sump. the sump had lots of bits and pieces along with £6.33p in various coins[is this a record?] thought this might clear the problem but it hasnt. also noticed the water isnt heating up.
looked in previous posts for similiar probs found none.
any sugestion gratefully appreciated. thx davey.April 15, 2008 at 5:29 pm #249346helo_75
Participant2,3&4 is f07, heater relay
faulty heater wouldnt show as a fault, moneys on pcb being faulty
and youll need an eprom too
need serial number, and which motor is on it to identify which one, but hotpoint charge £89 fixed price, regardless of what parts are needed, and to be fair, would work out as a cheaper option for you
hope this helps

wow !! thx for the swift reply helo_75.was hoping it might be something i could do myself[impress the wife]but hey thats life.
1 thing though ,could you explain what eprom means or does. thx daveyApril 15, 2008 at 6:24 pm #249348helo_75
Participantyep
the pcb on the machine is generic.. i.e it fits sevral in the hotpoint/indesit range
the only thing that sets the machine is the eprom(a microchip), which plugs into the main pcb via a surface mounted chip holder, which then programs the pcb
if youve never had a pcb fitted before, you will require one, if you have, then you can change it over
the original ones on the factory produced model where smaller and surface mounted
hope this helps

Yep .think i got that. so what you are saying is that the pcb onthe factory fitted is surface mounted and if it goes t!ts up you need a new pcb with a eprom which plugs in and programmed.
so would this have to be a hotpoint engineer to do the programming as i suppose they wouldnt want just anyone using their software. davey.April 15, 2008 at 7:12 pm #249350helo_75
Participantwell, always a grey area.. yes hotpoint have the software to program a blank eprom, but you can buy one ready programmed
bit of a closed shop really, if you wanna keep costs down
