    Hi all,
I have had my smeg intergrated dishwasher for 3 years now and it has played up before but I just left it switched off for a while and once on again it sorts itself. This time the middle of the 5 lights is flashing and the others are all off. It beeps twice when I switch it on but nothing else, the button seems to do nothing at all. This fault is not in the book and I cannot reset it either.
    Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks in advance.

An error code is always indicated by lamp 5 being on and steady at the same time. If it is, it indicates a fault in the temperature control circuit – the NTC sensor is the usual culprit.

If lamp 5 is not lit, there may well be a corruption issue – the mains suppressors blow on these machines; also the solenoid on the dispenser unit can break down internally.

Power off if you plan to investigate this yourself.

Lamp 5 is not lit. So presumably some kind of electronic fault?
How would i check the mains surpressor and where is it and is the solenoid 240v for testing?
    Cheers.

Early suppressor is a little three wire cylinder taped into the loom, bottom left. The later one is found in the rear right corner where the mains cable enters.

Solenoid does run at 240v – if the flap opens, there is no need for live testing. You’re looking for poor insulation, water marks, dodgy connections and the like.

PCB can in itself be faulty, they do just fail sometimes.

    Tricky one to call exactly……….
