ParticipantWe have a “Le Germania” which has been cleaned numerous times and whenever it is used creates a lot of smoke. It has also started to leave marks on the surrounding cupboards and the control panel. We think that the oven seal may need replacing (we estimate the oven to be over 5 years old).
Has anyone else had a similar problem? Do you know of any suppliers of a seal for a Le Germania oven?
Alternatively are universal seals good?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance

Not much out there to be found…….. La Germania brand name is owned by Bertazzoni in Italy. They don’t manufacture, so the product is bought in badged – some of the ovens are ATAG, hoods from China, etc.
We’ll need a model number to have any chance of tracking it down for you.

Thank you for your replies. I have located the model number etc. which is:
Type: F6 68 02N
Series: F6 6802N Var 00
MATR: 2396 031115If the oven is creating a lot of smoke when it is on, is it likely to be the door seal? What else could it be?
Many thanks in advance

Smoke is caused by burning – excess grease splattered over something getting hot. The door seal will only ensure that most of it stays in the oven box……….

Hi
If the problem is that it is smoking then turn the oven onto the fan setting up to maximum temprature for 2 hours and then turn it to grill for 20 minitues and then if your oven has the standard conventional setting that one for 20 mins keep the kitchen door closed and the windows open.
This will burn off any grease that has built up over the years.
