Hi Guys,
I have just purchased this Fridge Freezer from the Comet Clearance Web site at a great price (£390)!
But…… There is a problem!Once delivered, I let the unit stand in position for 4 hours, then switched on and set the Freezer and Fridge temp. -21/-4. All would seam to be well with the Freezer, but though the Fridge is cooling and all seems well with the temperature, the control panel would appear to be displaying the ambient temperature of the room! Also the interior light stops working, with a beeping of 11 beeps approx 1 min silence, then 11 beeps again! etc etc
If I switch the unit off at the wall, and back on again, all would appear to be well for a short while, temp display look correct, interior light works.
A Comet Service Engineer has been to have a look at the unit, (I was not present), though from what my neighbour said, the guy did not have a clue about this unit (to be fare the guy is probable a great refrigeration Engineer), but with these babies, I would think you guys have to be microprocessor and electronic engineers as well. The Engineer left paperwork for the unit to be returned, Great but all I will get is my £390.00 back.
I would like to keep the unit, repairing it my self if possible, ( I am an industrial electrical technician).
So can you guys help?
Thanks in advance Graham.

if its being uplifted then best not to touch it, if you only paid £390 for it you cant expect to get more money back just because it didnt work. put the money towards a boxed one.

Hi Smartin,
Getting More cash back is not the point I was making, I only expect to get back what I paid, which is what Comet have said they will do!
What I really mean is, its such a good bargain, I don’t want to loose it, hence if I have to spend a little more money to fix it may self, I am happy to do so and forgo any warranty.
Can you please explain what “if its being uplifted” means.
I don’t want to buy “a boxed one” as they are too expensive for my budget at the moment!
Best Regards Graham

According to what the poster actually said, he has £309 that he didn’t spend in his pocket in order to fix it himself………
