Hi Guys. I am having a problem with a WD420. Initaly the fault code was for NTC fault so I replaced that but that didnt work. I got a new board for it and now it comes up with comunication error. I have cleaned all the connector blocks and tried a new selector panel. Do the new boards need to be programed ?? Any advice please . Thanks.

Did you change both thermistors as the wash thermistor can play a part in faults with these washers.

When I saw this post this morning I suspected as much. 🙂

Now your problems really start. At least three different eeproms. Is it hot & cold or cold fill only, has it got a screwed or welded drum, what type is the motor, what is the commercial code, it doesn’t appear to be part of the numbers you gave.

Its a cold fill , screwed drum, UOZ 112G63 motor. There is no code on the machine, I have checked everywhere on it !

    Re: Hotpoint WD420

The comercial code should be on the rating plate it is an eleven digit number. To get the correct EPROM for a WD you need to know what type of heater box is fitted Version 1,2 or 3. I suspect from the SN you supplied that it will be a Ver 3 box. I havent got access to part numbers at the Mo but I am sure someone can help you out.

    Re: Hotpoint WD420

I meant who manufactured the motor.

If it is a CESET motor with a 52cm field coil you need eeprom C00259530.

If it is cold fill with the latest heater box which includes a flushing valve then you need C00203613.

If it is a cold fill with mk 1 or 2 heater box then you need a C00203185.

The commercial code should be 31127, it should form part of the 11 digit number that stripey refers to.

😀 Unfortunately I am not a young lad. 24 years in the business but have not had this problem before. I went to my suppliers this morning. They had the correct eprom in stock (why didnt they tell me I needed one when buying the board ?? :violent: ). Parts are fitted and machine has gone through a test wash. 8)
Thank you all for your help.
