    Hello!

My partner has removed the old element, and has put the new one in but it fouls on the drum – when the drum turns it rubs on the element and pushes element out of slot, element is same size as original – any ideas!!

Did the new heater element come with the tin bracket attached? If it didn’t you will need to transfer the one off the old element by straightening / bending the tags. The end of the tin bracket locates in a slot formed in the tub moulding.

    hi Phidom,

The new one had a tin bracket on it, but the old one didn’t so he took off the bracket on the new one – do you think the old one is stuck in the machine – is this possible?

    hi

found teh old bracket, and have removed it, unfortunatley I took off the bracket off teh new one and can’t remember which way round it goes, wehn inserting the heater element should the bracket be ABOVE the element of below the element?

    Thanks

    Picture HERE

Note, that picture shows the element upside down, so the bracket goes underneath.
